Artificial Insemination

Artificial Insemination

Artificial insemination is usually part of an infertility treatment; either the woman’s partner’s sperm (artificial insemination by husband, AIH) or donor sperm (artificial insemination by donor, AID) can be used.

In its simplest form, the woman’s menstrual cycle is closely observed and, just when an ovum is released, semen from a donor is placed in her upper vagina. With artificial insemination the woman conceives and bears to term a baby as normal, making her both the genetic and gestational mother.

Potty Training

Toilet training (or potty training) is the process of weaning a young child off diapers and training him/her to use the toilet for urination and defecation. Potty training is usually done between the ages of 2 and 4.

Learning to use the toilet is often treated like any other skill a young child learns, such as sitting up, walking or talking. There are signs that can indicate a child’s readiness for potty training.

For example, the child could be ready for potty training when able to remove and put on his own clothing and can follow complex instructions, then he is likely ready to begin learning to use the toilet.

Invisible Braces

Dental braces (also known as orthodontic braces or tooth braces) used in orthodontic dentistry to correct alignment of teeth and their position with regard to bite.

Braces are often used to correct flaws of the teeth and jaws, and braces can be recommended for cosmetic or structural reasons.

Traditionally, braces were made of bulky metal, and can affect the self-confidence of the person wearing the braces.

Nowadays with modern technology, it is possible to have invisible braces. Invisible Braces are virtually invisible – they allow you to straighten your teeth without the unsightly metal from regular braces.

Examples of clear braces include invisalign, which is a brand of invisible braces. You can find out more about invisible braces online.

Head Lice Treatment

Head Lice

Head lice are tiny insects that live on the scalp. They can be spread by close contact with other people.

Head lice are spread easily and cause intense itching, but they do not lead to a serious medical problem. Lice are more common in close, overcrowded living conditions. Lice spread readily among school children.

Lotions and shampoos containing permethrin are usually effective. They are available over-the-counter. If these do not work, other products are available by prescription. The medications used for lice are insecticides.
