Binge Eating Disorder

Binge eating is an eating disorder characterized by eating more than needed to satisfy hunger.

Binge eating is a feature of bulimia, a disorder that also includes abnormal perception of body image, constant craving for food and binge eating, followed by self-induced vomiting or laxative use.

Binge eating can cause long term health problems, and bulimia can further complicate these problems.

The most effective treatments for bing eating disorder is counselling, since the binge eater’s relationship with food is psychological, rather than physiological.
